Meet the Team

Julie

Julie

Likes to show John ideas on Pinterest and then let him create something even better with her idea since she is NOT the visual one.  After staying home with her kiddos for 15 years, she was ready to do something to help others. She hoped a family business would be just the thing – not only for her, but for her family to be able to come together and help others.  This is how the idea of Fig + Oak was born. While she’s not cleaning her house, picking up endless pairs of shoes or doing laundry for 2 teenage boys, she enjoys walks with her furry buddy Oscar or taking a trip to Mohican for some nature time.  She also loves a day to shop for fun, unique finds and eclectic things to bring into the store.

John

John

Amazing husband to the more amazinger Julie.  When he’s not designing and testing toilets for a living, John likes to work in his shop at home.  A maker through and through, he has been creating things for the Mitchell home since 2000 and has been an artist since childhood.  He loves working with reclaimed woods, and dreaming up creations with items that many would discard. He is the poster child of the phrase “jack-of-all-trades.”  John’s handmade and re-purposed items can be seen throughout the store whether it be the merchandise or the displays in the store.

Jayden

Jayden

The son with the big hair. Cool. Stylish. Swag. Handsome. Intellectual. These are all words he learned today. Jayden likes movies, music, art, and fashion. He likes being cool, and being boss – and not like a manager. Thank you for your time.

Joel

Joel (& Oscar)

The unique son of John and Julie Mitchell. He likes working in the store and has always been a fond lover of penguins. Joel enjoys art and drawing and loves the family dog, Oscar. You will sometimes find him working on his homework behind the desk.

Just a “Happy Ole Gramma”.  She believes laughter is truly the BEST medicine to put in your daily diet.  She loves music! Singing and children are her key notes. She says when you’re having a bad day, just sing, sing a song.

RachRachel

Loves to share hugs, light, love and kindness.  She chooses to live in a world full of freedom, adventure and harmony.  Her passion lives within the art world, but her true purpose in life is finding ways to empower others just by being her true authentic self.  Always allowing nature, art and human connection to be her guide. She loves to support local shops and connect with community, now giving back with her quirky lil family’s store that comes with a big heart and of course, lots of fun!
